Peace Regional Victim Services provides:

  • emotional support to victims of crime or tragedy, as well as their family and friends
  • information on a variety of topics related to loss, finances, legal issues and the court system
  • referrals to community resources, based on client needs
  • information and assistance with Victim Impact Statements, Requests for Restitution and the Financial Benefits Program
  • assistance in developing a safety plan for women and children threatened by domestic violence
  • assistance in developing a safety plan for victims of sexual assault
  • assistance with court preparation
  • court accompaniment and support
  • information about probation and parole status after court disposition
  • police accompaniment for Notification of Next of Kin

Emergency response

Emergency response is available 24/7, upon request from the RCMP, for assistance in dealing the the aftermath of:

  • suicide
  • sudden death
  • homicide
  • motor vehicle collisions resulting in injuries
  • motor vehicle collisions resulting in fatalities
  • domestic abuse
  • sexual assault
  • aggravated assault
  • disasters, such as floods, fires, plane crashes or chemical spills
  • other tragedies, such as missing persons or house fires
  • any fatality
